Boy or Girl????

I had a doctor's appointment today. I heard the baby move (can't feel it yet) and heard the heartbeat. It was so awesome! In two weeks I will be going in for an ultrasound to try to determine the gender of our little bundle. In Bloom

I gave Michael an Argentine Giant cactus for his birthday a couple years ago. It blooms very pretty white flowers, but they don't even last 24 hours. This morning it was in bloom with 12 flowers on them, it was beautiful. I had to take pictures and share!

Congratulations Casey & Jordan!

Last Saturday we went to the wedding reception for Casey & Jordan. Casey is my sister-in-law's (Heather) sister. Anyhow, it was lots of fun. I danced with Micah (taught him how to do the Electic Slide and Disco). Of course I danced with my own sweetheart too!

Rylee is so up on sarcasim that she finds it hard to believe anything questionable. Michael and I told her about a friend's minature paint horse. Rylee loves paint horses and we told her there is one just her size that she can ride next time she comes to see us. She raised her eyebrows and pointed to Michael with her thumb and said "he's funny". It took us a while to convice her it is a full grown horse, it is just miniature. Although, I think she still doubts we are telling her the truth. She is 3!!

RAIN!!

I LOVE the smell after it rains!! This morning I woke up to the smell and it just puts me in such a great mood, if only someone could truly recreate the smell in a candle. I just wanted to share this little pleasure of mine, since we should all try to enjoy the simple pleasures. I think a big part of the joy I find in it is that when I was little I loved to play in the rain and absolutely loved to be outside just after it rained, playing in the puddles and looking for the rainbow. It seems like it has been so long since it has rained and it was just such a welcome sight & smell today!!

One Trimester Down, Two to Go!

The first trimester wasn't so bad, I know it could have been worse. Mostly I was EXTREMELY exhausted. Fortunately, I have an awesome husband who helped pick up my share of chores. I have been mildly to moderately nauseous the majority of the time...but no vomiting...yet! Michael is so understanding, he has made me breakfast or dinner a couple of times that I simply could not eat...the thought wanted to make me hurl. Not that Michael doesn't make great food...apparently baby just didn't think it smelled or looked good.

The last several days Michael has been saying he has been feeling nauseous...all I could say is "welcome to my world". I was reading an article in a pregnancy magazine today that actually said it is not uncommon for husbands who are engrossed in their partner's pregnancy to experience similar symptoms, such as nausea. Interesting!

With my short frame, my tummy is already pushing out there...and no, I haven't been eating for two... and yes, there is only one in there.

At seven weeks we got to see the heartbeat. I guess Michael and I don't get overly excited about things, we both thought it was awesome, but just said "neat". It looked like a little amoeba, with a heart like in the Grinch, almost beating out of its skin. Michael has been to every appointment with me so far...he is so supportive and loving!

Here is to a healthy second trimester!

Michael's New Endeavor

Michael has been hired at Red Rock Jeep Tours and will start in a week and a half. Seven Canyons has been a good job, but their financial situation leaves us concerned that some day soon they won't be able to pay everyone on payroll. He will be making a little more money and the people he has met so far in the company seem like good people to work with/for.

He got a call from a friend of ours, "Rock", about the job. Apparently Rock gave Michael such a good recommendation that the RRJT general manager practically had decided to hire him before she met him. Michael said it was like she wasn't going to take no for an answer (not that he wanted to say no or anything). Thanks Rock!!

He will primarily be a Jeep mechanic, but they will also train him as a guide so he can do that sometimes as well. Whe he guides, he gets to dress up in his vintage western gear. He will even get to teach roping to tourists every once in a while as part of a Disney Out West package (Disney is a sponsor for RRJT).

We are excited for this change and hope it turns out to be as good as it sounds.
