A Little Encouragement to Enter the World...

If Danae doesn't make her debut sometime between now and next Tuesday...yes election day...the Doc will be inducing before she puts on more weight. We will go in either Monday evening for pre-stuff or Tuesday morning at 5 am. She will be here soon!!

Chunky Monkey

No...not the Ben and Jerry's ice cream flavor...our little girl. Yesterday I had an ultrasound to estimate Danae's weight. The ultrasound can estimate with a margin of error of one pound either way. She measured at 8 1/2 pounds!! So at this point she is anywhere from 7 1/2 to 9 1/2 pounds...and she's not done yet!! I am hoping she is on the low end of the estimate.

My Talented Husband

Michael made Danae a changing table on Sunday. We didn't want to buy a changing table that we would only use for a relatively short time. So, I found a picture of a shelf I liked in a catalog. First, the shelf was a little pricey and second, it didn't fit the dimensions of the changing wedge or the space we had to put it in. What to do...? Michael took the picture as a design guide and built a shelf to fit our needs. When we no longer need it for a changing table, the wedge comes out and it is a shelf for toys and books. I love multi-use items! He did an awsome job I think!

As a side note, I hade my 37 week Dr's appt today. Danae is head down, dropped, and getting ready to make her big debut...of course not even the doctor can predict accurately when that will be...what we know is it will be soon.

36 Weeks!!

Here is a belly shot for 36 weeks. She is growing right along...I think it is past the point of calling my belly a "baby bump". Other than some swelling and fatigue everything is going well (those are symptoms I can live with...they could be much worse!). Not too much longer and she will be at the point of arriving at any time!

Kase of the Kankles

So the swelling has begun...sorry no picture. For the last three days by evening I have absolute kankles, I can't believe how much one of my ankles/foot is swelling. It will all be worth it in a few weeks!! My pregnancy has been good, so I don't really have much to complain about. I am just amazed at the amount of swelling. This is the only time I am going to get away with wearing flip-flops (that don't even match) to work!! Now, if I could only pull off wearing sweatpants and a t-shirt to work...

October Update

Oops...

I forgot to add our niece Eden and nephew Easton who also have birthdays in October. Oh, and Michael's step-brother Ryan is a Halloween baby.

I had Heather's birthday wrong...its on the 19th and she will be 25 and holding :). Aunt Kathy's birthday is on the 7th.

I'm trying to keep track of everyone! Hope everyone has great birthdays!

October Birthdays, etc...

I think October is the "fullest" month for birthdays for the people I know. So, I want to do a "shout-out" to the people I care about. (See, Danae has to wait to come until November...there are much fewer birthdays then)

Happy Birthday to:
Leigh (8th)
Marlayne (8th)
Mom (11th)
Chris (14th)
Heather (18)
Lucas (22)
Aunt Kathy (?)

Happy Anniversary:
Lucas & Shelly (5th)

Hope you do something special for your day!

Five Wonderful Years!

October 4, 2003 is the date we were married. The weather was beautiful and the location was perfect...and Michael looked incredibly handsome!

Michael had just finished his welding & diesel mechanic certification at WyoTech in Wyoming and was working at Village Car Care in the Village of Oak Creek when we got married.

I had just graduated the academy and completed my field training. The day after we got married, I left Michael for a week for mounted patrol school. A tough decision that has worked out well for my career, but I still regret not enjoying a honeymoon (although we spent all our money on the wedding, I'm not sure what we would have done for a honeymoon). We have tried to make up for it by doing something extra special for our anniversaries. This year, we will be keeping it simple, but it will still be special. We will go out to breakfast, spend the day together and enjoy some fruit and chocolate fondue as a special treat. I would love to go for a horseback ride...but I still have a few months before I can do that.

We met at the Rockin' Rodeo in Phoenix on Sept 1, 2001. Michael was in the Marine Corps and stationed in Yuma. I was the Animal Control Officer where I am still currently employed as a police officer now. If you notice the date...yep...9-11 happened only 10 days after we met and Michael was put on "lock down" on base. He never did go to Iraq since he was in his motorcycle accident about the time his unit was to be deployed. (I'm glad he served our country, but I am gald he didn't have to go)

Michael is my best friend and I couldn't ask for a better husband as we enter the next chapter of our lives together with the birth of Danae! Here's to many more wonderful years!
